Neil Middleton from Monochrome has written a great piece that helps to shed some light on the difficulties of designing software. It all applies to developing web content as well. I laughed... and cried.
It is written as a letter to an architect from a client, however, the client's voice is one that many developers will find all too familiar.
"Please design and build me a house. I am not quite sure of what I need, so you should use your discretion. My house should have somewhere between two and forty-five bedrooms. Just make sure the plans are such that the bedrooms can be easily added or deleted."

In foundry terms, shakeout is the process of freeing the casting from the mold. The removal of the excess metal (called the sprue, runners and gates) is then done with hammers, cutting torches, or band saws. This site is for that excess material that doesn't belong with the finished product.
